One month has passed already? Wow sure didn't seem that long. I've been living a good life so far,and erm trying to steal a look at someone as well haha. I went back to tangkak over the weekends to get another one of my buffet fixes. Moment I arrived I started chionging to my various foodspots and started eating haha. Sounds so pig I know, but hey I enjoyed myself thoroughly,so definitely worth it. Hope I managed to put on some weight in the process!
Anyway while I was back there I was struck by an article written by my uncle. Kinda like a gospel study I think. And I think this alone has revived my faltering faith in God. For the longest time I've casted my doubts on questions Gary(no offense bro) actually posted, like how do we even know if He or any other immortal that other religions choose to believe in is real in the first place? Sure they may be historical annals and all,but can we really prove them? We can't go back in time just to confirm if the events actually happened at all. All these really got me thinking, and I thought so much till my head hurt, and I came to the conclusion that what he said makes a lot of sense. And so let my doubts invade every aspect of my life.
But somehow,I think this article alone may have renewed my faith in Him. I still have my doubts, but this is by far the most optimistic article on the subject for me. Here it is:
True Grace versus False Grace
Of course we know that salvation is of the Lord and grace is unmerited and free. But the danger lies in the teachings of false prophets (both preachers and pastors) who have conveniently twisted grace into lies. From a doctrine of repentance, leading to a process of sanctification; these false teachers have dastardly declared it to be a license for immorality. This means we can continue in our sinful nature with no repentance required as our past, present and future sins are assured of forgiveness.
Jude wrote in 1:4 that it has been predicted that …ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ will creep into our midst unnoticed. Having crept in among the sanctified Christians, they too would be claiming to be true believers. Of course they would say that they believe in Jesus and our God; but they deny the necessity of Jesus to be their actual Lord and Master, perfectly controlling our thoughts, words and deeds. To deny the Lord is to walk contrary to holiness, righteousness and truth; and this is evident in their ungodly actions and speech.
But let me tell you that Salvation and the Kingdom of Heaven’s price is sacrifice of self that is the death of our sinful nature. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts — Galatians 5:24. We need to carry the inward cross of self-denial and receive the Holy Spirit through surrendering, submitting and obeying the Word.
Romans 6:22 says, “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life”. In the light of this verse, brethren… it is pertinent to ask and check ourselves if we are really saved. Given that the process of sanctification is gradual as we learn to draw nigh to God, there surely must be an improvement in our spiritual life. If we are continually stagnant and enjoy indulging in sinful acts with no sense of guilt and not the slightest desire to repent, our Salvation comes into question! A servant to God is assured of the fruit unto holiness. In contrast if we are slaves to sin, we cannot be of the Lord. We are saved onto holiness that is we will naturally want to do good and everything pleasing in the sight of the Lord.
In closing, let no man deceive you with empty words, lawlessness and immorality as the wrath of God will come upon the children of disobedience as forewarned in Ephesians 5:6. “For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God”— Ephesians 5:5 Our Lord is not a God of immorality and disobedience for it is clearly stated in Romans 6:15: What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under GRACE? God FORBID. Let’s encourage and support one another in brotherly Christian love to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. The gospel of repentance with forgiveness and remission of sins cannot be equated with forgiveness of sins alone which leaves us stuck in our ungodly, unholy sinful nature.
And with that,I bid all of you goodnight. God bless y'all.
